1. Biology & Marine Biology Honours (BIOL & MARI 4901 and 4902)
This course is for 4th year undergraduates who are conducting an independent research project under the supervision of a faculty member. With the supervisor’s input, students direct all aspects of a research project, from the conceptualization of study aims and formulation of hypotheses and predictions, to the design of experiments and field programs, to the collection and analysis of data, and to the interpretation of results. The end product is an honours thesis, which can sometime result in a manuscript that can be submitted to and published in the primary scientific literature (click here for an example from one of my students!). Students also present the results of their research at the Cameron Conference, which occurs annually at Dalhousie. Click here for more information on the conference and on the honours program more generally.
2. Animal Physiology 1 (BIOL 3078 & MARI 3074)
- Basic principals in animal physiology, with laboratory and seminar sections.
3. Biologging (and Biotelemetry) In Ecology (BIOL/MARI 4323)
- The use of biologging and biotelemetry tools to inform basic and applied research on animal movements.
